Here are my favorites upcoming features and changes coming to each area of the Power Platform:

Power Pages

I am extremely excited to see “Manage Power Pages ALM using Solutions” as one of the enhancements to Power Pages in 2023! Moving changes between environments in Power Pages today is so complicated, technical and annoying. Solution management is coming, which makes me thrilled!

Power Virtual Agents

When I looked at the release notes to learn about what’s new in Power Virtual Agents, I was somewhat surprised to see items that have already been available in preview. The updates for bot configuration and core authoring will all be generally available in May and June 2023. Updates include:

Power Automate

As you probably already know, I love the natural language flow creation capabilities! Natural language to flow is something that has excited me since its very first announcement. I am thrilled to see general availability for “Natural language to create flows” set for May 2023. This will help so many people write their first automations. It will be easier and faster to build automations and onboard to Power Automate.

Power Apps: Canvas Apps

Anytime you build a canvas app, you need to be careful to build them responsively. If you don’t add responsiveness to your app, it won’t have it. This is all about to change (yay!) with “Drag and drop to build responsive pages more easily.” Responsiveness will be built in with these layouts.

Power Apps: Model-driven Apps

There’s a new look and feel for model-driven apps that’s included in this release wave. Hey, it looks like they’ve changed the Business Process flow from orange to blue! I’m sure there’s more to this update than this though. It promises controls and Fluent design-based elements on a per app, opt-in basis. According to the release notes, these changes include “colors, layouts, fonts, colors and more.”

Power BI

One of the things I’m looking forward to most in the Power BI release notes is that Power BI quick reports in Power Apps will be enabled by default. This will use that handy “Visualize View” button in a model-driven apps that was announced and in preview last year. Auto-generate impressive Power BI visuals and start exploring data with just a few clicks.
